First winter as Bellecara Equestrian at Havendell has been a test of patience in what has seemed a constant deluge of rain and mud. Needless to say we adore the new property and the horses settled in beautifully, coming out of winter looking great.
The persistent wet weather was a great motivator to get concrete poured to start off the stables / covered yards - not sure who will appreciate them the most, us or the horses!
We've enjoyed the past week of sunshine, and made the most of it by bringing the girls in for some attention. Our three broodmares - Ally (in foal to Tommy again), Poppy (our syndicate mare in foal to Donnerubin) and Tess (in foal to Tommy) are in fantastic condition. Great toplines and incredible shine thanks to their Duwell Vitamins & Minerals and Happy Tumm. It's nice when you feel it wouldn't take much to get the broodmares prepped for showing!
Treasure and Capella have also done well turned out through winter to grow and develop. Penny does a lovely job of babysitting and keeping everyone in line, and their manners were delightful when we bought them in for some love and care.
We have a huge few months coming up, kicking off with Equidays in October and the start of the showing and dressage season, with some motivating goals in place.
